My Bangalore – Rtr. Arnab Mukherjee

At some point in time, every one of us feels that there’s a rebel inside. The only question is: Is that a rebel without a cause?; Or do we really have a cause?

Deep down we know what has been bothering us. Maybe it’s the weather. Maybe it’s the voices inside our
head. Maybe it’s the silence of the voices outside which we fail to understand.
So we, as rotaractors, strive to give a voice to a society which is otherwise numb. Numb, not because they’ve stopped feeling the pain. Numb, because there’s no one to voice their opinions and take actions in the right direction.

As rotaractors, we don’t promise that we’ll do different things. We don’t promise that we’ll change this city. We don’t promise that we’ll focus only on making this city more prosperous. Ain’t that the quintessential government manifesto talk?

They say it’s the hottest fires that make the hardest steel. With hard work and conviction and with the knowhow that runs generation deep in every last one of us rotaractors, we promise to deliver results. We promise to take steps to make this city an example for others to follow.

We are not the golden city. We are not the city of joy. We are certainly not the finance city. And we don’t take the moniker of being the “Silicon Valley of India” as a compliment. This is the Garden city. And this is what we are
